Project READ Training Opportunities

Webinars: Participate in a Webinar Series facilitated by Dr. Deborah Reed (Iowa Reading Research Center) and featuring Project READ Exemplar Sites sharing their expertise.

All the Webinars will be from 3:15 to 4:45 pm

Participant Stipends are available at a rate of $50 per person per Webinar.


Statewide Institute: Attend the Project READ Statewide Institute facilitated by Dr. Deborah Reed (Iowa Reading Research Center), featuring interactive presentations with experts in the field. Dr. Reed and other leading literacy experts will share literacy strategies, tools and resources. This dynamic, two-day event includes workshops, roundtable discussions and opportunities to network with other middle school sites.

Location: Sheraton Resort, Anaheim, CA

School or district site teams are Eligible to apply for stipends to offset the cost of attending the 2-day Institute, at the following rates:

  • Northern Sites: $1300 per person. Teams Up to 4 People
  • Central Sites: $900 per person. Teams Up to 4 People
  • Southern Sites: $800 per person. Teams Up to 4 People

Site Visits: Visit a Project READ Exemplar Site to observe the implementation of recognized best practices in adolescent literacy. They will be sharing reading strategies, resources, tools, team building techniques.

Half day Site Visits will include:

  • Introduction to Exemplar School Site Team
  • Overview of Program: Strategies, Tools, Resources
  • Campus Tour
  • Observation Opportunities
  • Q&A

Site Visit Stipends are available for Site Teams Meeting the Eligibility Requirements.

  • $1300 for Site Teams of 3 or more people
  • Visits must be at least Half a Day (3.5 hours or more)
